Ride One Platja Sant Pol – Tossa de Mar vv.

Probably one of the most scenic coastal rides in Spain if not in Europe, usually with quiet roads off season but defenitely busier in August and July. Although the round trip is just under 50 km and therefor overall not that long in distance the cumulative altitude of the combined climbs of close to 1100 m can make it a strenuous effort on a hot day.

Ride Two Vuelta por les Gavarres

Overall distance of 74 kilometers crossing the Gavarres and passing by Bisbal with the possibility of a small detour to medieval Monells. The ride includes three intermediate climbs and reaches a cumulative 1023m in altitude. Along the way to Santa Pellaia (mount Hincapie as per mr. Craven) you can enjoy some great views of Girona, the Pyrenees and las islas Medas in the mediteranean.

Ride Three Vuelta por Romanya

This is a short training ride of just under 40 km distance covering some 500 m in cumulative altitude. Starting at sea level in Sant Antoni de Calonge you cross a lovely valey eventually reaching the highest point of the ride at the pre historic dolmen just before Romanya after a 5 km climb. After wich you descend and come back through Santa Christina d Aro. One climb only, avoid hot days.

Inspiration & Appreciation

In the sidebar you find two videos done by Mike Coty of the Col Collective (one of them with Dan Craven as a guide !). As source of inspiration and at the same time in great appreciation for their work portraying the area in such a beautiful and honest way we like to share these with you. It just makes you realise how priviledged we are considering this our cycling home turf. Come over and enjoy !
